Post-rational automationI'm forced, by talking about anything out of the proverbial blue, to refer to myself in some way. Which is unfortunate, as that gives it a little bit of the stereotypical whiney sound of today's one-track tracts. When I write, I don't mean to whine, I simply mean to portray a particular mindset or feeling without drawing on the fact that someone actually has that mindset.   
Anyway, tangent aside. The nature of consciousness, self consciousness, self awareness and sentience. They all sound like the same thing, don't they? Yes, mental shortcuts are a very seductive thing. Consciousness I think, can be thought of as the Turing machine Post-rational automation

Everything I say seems wrong, is it a stretch to apply that to the deeply held constructs which make up all that I see true?

It is something to lack trust in what you see, what you hear, what you sense. It is another, far more serious, far more damning to know the fabric of your mind's thinking is flawed so deeply as to see reason in falsehood.

Being wrong, I don't mind - learning from mistakes is part of the human condition, but lacking the capacity to see why what's true is true, that makes the mind invalid.


(PS: To all who I watch, I'm sorry for not commenting on your art at all lately, I have little of value to say. Take no comments as a good sign, I have no criticism to offer. :P)

Du är välkomman :) Yeah, I use Gentoo, can't stand Windows. Used the latter for the best part of my life though unfortunately. I'm only recently enlightened :P You're taste is rather good too, going on what I can recall from your last.fm profile ...

I also used Windows for the better part of my life... when I found Slackware (now its Ubuntu), I just couldn't turn back to windows anymore (I actually tried... several times, but I always ended up coming back). So much faster... so much more beautiful! My Last.fm profile? I'm guessing you just typed my nick in (which is correct)? :-P
